THE COLOR OF THE YEAR IS VARIEGATED

The Annual Exhibition of the Estonian Textile Artists' Union 2024

07.12.2024 - 02.03.2025

Opening on December 6th at 16.00

Colors have power and force both individually and in groups; everything depends on the composition and harmony. Bright and dull, intense and restrained, the choice between opposites is always different. Sometimes harmonious and controlled individually, can become a true spectacle altogether! This is also true for the artists participating in the exhibition – on a collective exhibition, the contrast and strength of being side by side are revealed. The Estonian Textile Artists' Union connects artists with very different author positions and creative handwriting, where textile is the central material in their works. The annual exhibition of the Estonian Textile Artists' Union, which has already become a tradition, is an anticipated event for both the participants themselves and the public. The annual exhibition at the New Art Museum also highlights the recipients of the annual awards - the recognition of Textile Artist of the Year 2023 laureate is Aet Ollisaar, Young Textile Artist of the Year 2023 is Maria Kristiin Peterson, the recognition Textile Act of the Year 2023 was awarded to Maryliis Teinfeldt-Grins's community project “Who Remembers Last? Who Remembers Better?” and the jury's special award for long-term and consistent research work and development of textile art was received by Kadi Pajupuu.
