ROSARY MYSTERIES/ GLORIOUS SONATAS

Violinist Leena Laas and organist Ines Maidre will perform H. I. F. Biber's Rosary sonatas at the concert dedicated to Mother's Day.

At this concert, the third part of the cycle, "Mysteries of Honor", will be performed.

In connection with the use of the scordatura (non-standard) tuning, the soloist uses not one, but five violins.

Next to Biber's sonatas, the toccatas sound from Georg Muffati's cycle "Aparatus musico-organisticus", which in terms of era and content perfectly ties in with the Biber style.
