Urbanuse Church in Varbla

See on map

Urbanuse Church in Varbla was built in 1861 and it is a neo-gothic building with white plastered walls, one nave, a slender tower and high narrow windows. The modest interior of the church is balanced out by the lush interior characteristic of the churches of coastal Swedes. The inside of the church looks like an overturned boat – an impression created by the beams that curve downwards. The church has three alter paintings from the 17th century and a pulpit in neo-gothic style.  The church has an active congregation.
