At the alpaca farm, you can see the alpacas up close, pet them, and feed them carrot slices bought at the farm shop. In addition to alpacas, you can also see cool llamas, guanacos, cute dwarf goats, mini lambs, guinea pigs, chickens and rabbits here. You can buy souvenirs, alpaca wool yarn, knitwear and other products at the farm shop.

Bedwetters recommends to enjoy a fun and scenic holiday in the Soomaa National Park, make sure to try bog swimming and riding a UNESCO Heritage dugout canoe.

Situated on the border of Pärnu and Viljandi County, Soomaa is one of the true gems of Estonian nature, with its bogs, swamp forests and rivers in natural beds, practically untouched by human activity.

The Soomaa National Park, established in 1993, is the second largest national park in Estonia, and as much as half of its 39,884 hectares is covered with wetland areas. The floods characteristic of Soomaa can cover up to 17,500 hectares of the total area of the park. The spring high water is also known as the fifth season.

Bedwetters recommends – spend an active holiday at the Jõulumäe Recreational Sports Centre in the middle of pine forests, where you will find lots to do for days.

Jõulumäe is a place that provides a variety of opportunities for movement in nature.  Walking around, you will find ski, running, cycling and roller skating trails, as well as orienteering, disc golf and hiking trails, athletics courts, ball courts, and more. What is new at Jõulumäe is the exclusive indoor beach arena open all year round, which hides an entire football court and tons of nice dune sand. You can forget about the cold summer and the poor skiing weather here – it’s always warm here.

The indoor beach arena with its sand court is unique in the whole region. The beach soccer court meets FIFA requirements and allows practicing various beach sports – beach soccer, volleyball, handball, tennis, wrestling, etc. Competitions, training sessions, and training camps can be organised in the sand hall.

A cultural holiday

Bedwetters recommends – contemporary art exhibitions at the Museum of New Art are always exciting and positively surprising!

The museum’s collection contains over 700 visual art pieces, and more than 1,200 documentaries are kept in its videotheque. Established by Mark Soosaar, the art centre is extremely important in the cultural life of Pärnu.
The international exhibition of nudes known as ‘Man and Woman’ has become a tradition at the museum, as well as the recycling exhibition ‘Give a New Life’.

The museum houses an art shop selling local designs and the largest selection of postcards in Pärnu.

Bedwetters recommends – the story of our hometown begins with the Pärnu Museum, with its walls and people telling stories about our ancestors and the history of time and culture dating back 11,000 years.

We will take a walk from Pulli, the oldest known human settlement in Estonia, to the exciting Hanseatic city. We’ll pass high-class leisurers and the founders of the Republic of Estonia, to reach the present day, almost – a retro-style Soviet living room reminiscent of the homes of our grandmothers and grandfathers.

As the people of Pärnu, we grow up in the bosom of the sea and the river, drawing inspiration from the sand on the beach, the sea breeze, the song of seagulls and the linden alleys. Many musicians, writers and artists start out and become famous here – come to the museum and find out what’s so special about this air of Pärnu!

Bedwetters recommends – the Red Tower as the oldest surviving building in Pärnu is a place where you can see and experience 15,000 years of history in 10 minutes!

Today, the mediaeval Red Tower houses an exciting small museum, and its 360º panoramic cinema on the attic floor shows a unique animated film that tells you the entire history of the area, starting with the last ice age, in 10 minutes.

Do take some time to examine the tower itself and find out what Pärnu looked like 500 years ago. Imagine being Andreas Block, a mason in Uus-Pärnu (New Pärnu), or Jaan, a hired hand of the alderman of Pärnu. Pull open the heavy door of the medieval defence structure and find out whether the women of the tower are ready to tell you fascinating stories about the long-standing prison tower of the city, or about the former townspeople and about medieval crime and punishment.
