Sculpture Avenue

The Sculpture Avenue in Pärnu Beach Park is an international open-air exhibition that originated from the 1st Pärnu International Sculpture Days held in 2001. The avenue was initiated by artist Rait Pärg with the aim of bringing contemporary sculpture into the public space of the resort town.

The first works were installed during the 2001 symposium, and in the following years, mainly between 2002 and 2005, the avenue was expanded with new sculptures created during recurring international art events. The artists represented come from Estonia, Finland, France, Iceland, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, and the United States.

A variety of materials have been used in the creation of the works, including dolomite, granite, steel, cast iron, concrete, and wood. Information boards located next to the sculptures provide details about the works and their authors. As an open and freely accessible art space, the avenue is not a finished entity but continues to evolve over time, maintaining its connection to both the international art field and the urban development of Pärnu.

The Sculpture Avenue was renovated in the spring of 2026 and reopened in its renewed form on June 2, marking the 60th anniversary year of Rait Pärg.
