Description

Puhulaiu Peninsula is one of the most distinctive natural sites in Pärnu County, combining ancient forests, coastal meadows, and exceptionally diverse birdlife.

Puhtulaiu forest is one of Estonia's oldest coastal forests, where centuries-old oaks, linden trees, and pines grow. There are very few coastal forests like this left in Estonia. From spring to autumn, many flowers and plants bloom here. offering inspiration to every nature lover. Puhtulaid is part of Matsalu National Park, which is one of the most important stopover sites for migratory birds in Europe. During the spring migration, up to a million arctic birds can fly over here daily, making the area a true paradise for birdwatchers.

You can reach the tip of Puhtulaiu Peninsula via a hiking trail that is about 1.5 km long. Here, you feel as though you were on the edge of the world, with a quiet sea and endless birdsong accompanying every step.
