The Farm Museum of C. R. Jakobson at Kurgja
C. R. Jakobson was a successful farmer, politician, enlightener, and one of the most beloved leaders of the Estonian national movement. What makes the farm museum named after him in Kurgja special is the fact that the farm still engages in cattle breeding and farming. All buildings are built on the basis of Jakobson's own drawings and vision. At the Farm Museum, you can explore cattle, sheep, and horses, as well as restored old farm buildings such as a cattle barn, barn, mill, and threshing barns. In the Rehetoa Café, you can taste Estonian national dishes which are mostly prepared from the ingredients grown in the museum. The new hands-on exhibition in the renovated mansion C. R. Jakobson – Awakener of the Estonian Spirit Field tells stories about the most important events, places, and people of Jakobson's life, as well as his greatest wishes.
