As the evenings grow darker and the air turns crisp, Alice's Backyard in Pärnu opens the doors to its cave saunas.

Before the year ends, we're hosting three special sauna ritual evenings, each with its own theme. Expect time-honoured Estonian sauna traditions, a relaxing wellness spa and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. It's the perfect excuse to set aside a few hours just for yourself and unwind with a good sauna and a guided ritual.

Three evenings, three rituals

10 October – Birch Whisk Ritual
The birch whisk is one of the most iconic symbols of Estonian sauna culture. This ritual is all about whisking, the fresh scent of birch leaves and the natural rhythm of the sauna. Whisking helps your muscles relax and opens the pores, while the essential oils in the birch leaves make every breath feel lighter.

7 November – Power of Steam
November's evening revolves around the salt steam sauna, a honey and sugar body scrub and a eucalyptus whisk. The gentle heat warms you through and helps you let go, while carefully chosen aromas fill the air with a soothing, peaceful feel.

5 December – Sound Journey & Aromas
The last and most special evening of the season, just before the Christmas rush. The deep beat of a shamanic drum and the soft tones of Koshi chimes fill the traditional sauna, accompanied by the scent of essential oils. It's an atmospheric experience where sound sets a different pace and gives you a chance to leave the busy everyday world behind for a while.

What to expect
Your two-hour visit includes a guided ritual led by our sauna master. The rest of the time is yours to enjoy at your own pace, moving between the saunas, the warm outdoor hot tub and the cosy fireplace room. An Estonian snack table awaits you by the fireplace, and to round off the evening, your hostess will serve you a cup of cleansing herbal tea.

Entry times: 16:00, 18:00 or 20:00 (each visit lasts 2 hours)

Price: €55 per person
