On 15 April 2023, the Pärnu City Orchestra will hold a concert with an international flavour at the Pärnu Concert Hall, where the orchestra will be joined for the first time in Estonia by the renowned Prague Symphony Orchestra's Principal Conductor, Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic Orchestra's Principal Guest Conductor Tomáš Brauner from the Czech Republic.
The soloist in Pyotr Tchaikovsky's “Variations on a Rococo Theme” is the renowned cellist Indrek Leivategija, who has worked for many years in Germany, first with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and then as second concertmaster of the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra.
The Czech Republic is geographically at the heart of Europe, and the capital, Prague, has been one of the central cities in the cultural history. Mozart also had close ties with the city, with the premiere of his opera “Don Giovanni”, as well as his famous Symphony no. 38. Tomaś Brauner introduces the city’s spirit and its music. Indrek Leivategija is highly regarded as a soloist, ensemble member and orchestrator – he is the concertmaster of the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra and is active as a chamber musician throughout Europe.
