Guided tour in Pärnu “On the Trails of the History of the Russian Empire”
Two centuries of Russian rule left a deep mark on the city of Pärnu; its legacy is visible to this day. During this period, the city transformed from a fortress into a resort, where magnificent churches, stone jetties, and a dignified resort culture with its distinctive lifestyle and traditions emerged.
The era of the Russian Empire brought both military and culture to Pärnu – the streets here tell stories of the lives of noble families, the achievements of scientists and artists, and the enterprise of merchants and craftsmen. The cityscape was enriched by people who contributed to science, law, and craftsmanship, and whose activities carried the name of Pärnu further afield.
On the tour “On the Trails of the Russian Empire,” we walk through the historical city center, search for the pearls of the Tsarist era, and hear stories about the people who shaped the face of the city. Guide Veronika Meibaum takes enthusiasts on a trip through time in Estonian, Russian, or English, weaving historical facts with exciting anecdotes that vividly bring the heritage of the Russian Empire in Pärnu to life.
