Kasari jõe vana sild valmis 1904. aastal – üle 300 m pikk ning 7 m lai sild oli tollal pikim raudbetoonsild Euroopas. Nüüdseks on ta renoveeritud, kuid vaid jalakäijatele kasutatav.
Silla alt voolab läbi Eesti pikkuselt kuues, 100 km pikkune Kasari jõgi, mis suubub Matsalu lahte. Uuest sillast alates kulgeb jõgi Matsalu Rahvuspargi alal, ümbritsetuna madala ja üleujutatava Kasari luhaga.
Hea teada: Kasari jõgi on produktiivne haugi-särje ja mageveekalade sigimispaik ning rändetee.
