Red Tower

In a corner tower of the medieval city fortifications, built in the 15th century and known as the Red Tower, you will find a small but innovative visitor centre. A branch of the Pärnu Museum, located in the oldest surviving building in Pärnu, introduces the history of the area, focusing on the story of the former prison tower and medieval Pärnu.

On the upper floor of the tower there is a 360° panorama cinema, where a 10-minute animated film presents Pärnu’s history from the last Ice Age to the present day. The courtyard gallery panels and the 2nd-floor display cases introduce local history, and in warmer seasons visitors can play the large medieval Mill Game in the courtyard.

Conference facilities

The inspiring environment and unique atmosphere of the tower’s 2nd floor make it possible to host very distinctive events. The venue is suitable for team events, presentations, motivation or appreciation gatherings, as well as cultural events. Due to the historical building’s size, the number of visitors is limited – up to 20 on the 2nd floor, and up to 10 in the cinema hall. The Red Tower can only be rented as a whole.

In the inner courtyard of the Red Tower, concerts, performances, and other cultural events can be organised. The courtyard is also suitable for private events. It is equipped with electricity and features a life-sized Mill Game, which can also be used as a stage if needed.

If desired, the entire complex, including the courtyard, can be rented.
