P\u00e4rnu is a resort city with a rich culture and romantic streets and a history dating back to the 13th century. P\u00e4rnu-J\u00f5esuu has been inhabited for more than 11,000 years already. A good location along the sea and the river has shaped P\u00e4rnu into the city it is today.<\/p>


\nIn the Middle Ages, P\u00e4rnu was a port of historical importance in the import of goods. In 1838, the first bathing establishment was opened here and the history of the development of P\u00e4rnu as a resort began.<\/p>
