“Swallows of the Homeland” is a comedy by Andrus Kivirähk that combines sharp humor with the treatment of real-life themes.
The action takes place in a cultural center with a roof passing through a small village and a broken toilet bowl, where five active women operate. The dedicated theater troupe's instructor, Pilvi, has written a musical for the country's birthday about brave schoolboys going to the War of Independence. Unfortunately, life in Estonia hasn't changed much compared to back then: while men didn't feel like going to war at that time, now they don't feel like doing a play.
