A nature evening introducing the bird of the year, the cormorant, will take place on April 22 at 6:00 PM at Sindi community center.

 

The Estonian Ornithological Society has chosen the cormorant as the bird of the year 2025. This bird, with its archaic appearance, is a very good swimmer and skilled at catching fish, living and nesting in colonies mainly in coastal areas. The cormorant has its own distinct and important role in the ecosystem, which requires and deserves thorough research and explanation.

 

The nature evening "Bird of the Year 2025 – Cormorant" will take place on April 22 at 6:00 PM at Sindi community center (Pärnu mnt 44, Sindi).

 

Kunter Tätte, a bird protection specialist from the Estonian Ornithological Society, will speak about the cormorant.
