The musical performance "Corpse Bride" is a humorously colorful story with comical characters, exciting stage design solutions, face paintings and costumes, and brilliant musical singing and dance numbers. The directors are three long-time members of the musical troupe: Carol Põldsaar, Tanel Pai, and Anna-Kaisa Nõmme. The head artist is Carol Põldsaar, a third-year props student at Viljandi Culture Academy, and the choreographer is Brit Marii Veri. The costumes and props were made by Siiri Põldsaar, the leader of NGO Kungla.
The production is inspired by the unique Tim Burton's animated film "Corpse Bride," which premiered in 2005. It's a story in the classic Burton style about hope, romance, and a very colorful afterlife. The action takes place in 19th century Europe and tells the story of Victor, who, after a failed wedding rehearsal, goes to the forest to practice his vows, but unfortunately, he asks for the hand of a mysterious dead bride in the forest. Victor's true bride, Victoria, waits for him unhappily in the earthly realm. Although life in the land of the dead is lively and fun, Victor soon realizes that nothing can keep him away from true love.
