Museum Night at C.R. Jakobson Farm Museum

18:00 - 23:00
During this year's museum night, we aim to offer visitors a peaceful journey in the spring farm, garden, and riverside – moments of beauty, bird songs, and pleasant emotions.
We have created several themed spots or "nests" at Kurgja, where everyone can choose a suitable place for being and discovering. Whether to sit in the garden and explore plants, take a look into the world of old books, or spend time in the children's room – there are many possibilities.
History Nest: In the museum's Sakala room, visitors can see an exhibition of treasures from Carl Robert Jakobson's library. You can see very old books, including works from Jakobson's childhood.
For the first time, we are also introducing books to the visitors where Jakobson has written notes or dedications to his wife Julie in his own hand. There are mini fairy tale books on display that he purchased for his children. We present Jakobson's library during a guided session.
Garden Nest: In the museum garden, you can get advice on farm plants, buy seedlings, and browse gardening books.
Animal Nest: In the barn, museum animals await visitors – an opportunity to get acquainted with our animals closely.
Romantic Nest: A table full of romance novels is set up outside, which you can browse or read peacefully. If there are interested people, a discussion circle will take place on the topic: "Romance Novels – Positive Emotions or Escapism?"
Children's Nest: In the children's room, you can read, draw, and color. In the garden, you can find and color the plant corresponding to the task using worksheets.
The threshing floor café and outdoor café are open.
All museum buildings are open, (the barn until 21:00).
Museum Night at Kurgja is an invitation to slow down and let books, nature, and the spring farm landscape sweep you along for a moment. Come as you are – and perhaps leave a bit more at peace.
You can also come to the museum night by ordered bus. The bus is free, but places are limited.
