Successful and wealthy jewelry designer Camille Dargus lives in a glamorous rooftop apartment in Soho. Tired of yet another boring reception, Camille brings home a young waiter, Billy. However, this young man has more lurking beneath the surface than meets the eye, and soon Camille has to call in security guard Ted to throw the audacious Billy out of the apartment. Thus begins an unexpectedly twisting journey into the past, which Camille has tried to forget.
David Foley's play “Affair” was nominated in 2008 in New York for the Mystery Writers of America's most prestigious award, the Edgar Award. This award for the best thriller of the year has been presented in New York in honor of the famous writer Edgar Allan Poe since 1955. The first recipient of the MWA award was Agatha Christie, and later this great recognition has been awarded to authors such as Rex Stout, Ellery Queen, Georges Simenon, John le Carré, Stephen King, and many other famous authors.
Although Foley originally titled the play “IF/THEN,” an English producer soon renamed the stage work to “Deadly Murder.” Later, the play has also been staged under the name “Deadly Game,” translated into many other European languages, and successfully performed in various parts of the world. In Estonia, David Foley’s thriller takes to the stage for the first time at Keller Theatre - and this time under a new name - “AFFAIR.”
“"Deadly Murder” is a delicious triple play with more twists
and turns than in an Agatha Christie novel…”
– UK Theatre Network
“A nerve-wracking, complexly constructed thriller, full of unexpected twists
and double games… this is a refreshingly modern thriller.”
– Worthing Herald
Premiere on April 10, 2022, at Keller Theatre.
