The one and only dance room in Lähkma this season!
The workshop is led by Sanna Mansikkaniemi from Finland and Raido Lill from Pärnumaa.
Sanna is a versatile musician whose repertoire ranges from early music to contemporary music. Sanna holds a master's degree in music from the church music and vocal music department of the Sibelius Academy. Sanna also studied choral conducting and baroque violin at the Estonian Academy of Music in Tallinn. She currently works as a freelance musician, arranger, and producer in Finland. Sanna's main instruments are violin, piano, organ, and saw. Sanna has befriended Estonian folk musicians and participated in several projects of the Lähkma-Saunametsa village society, including teaching Finnish dances.
Raido Lill graduated from the Georg Ots Tallinn Music School and the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre in viola performance. He works as a music and violin teacher in Pärnumaa. He has been collaborating with the musicians of the Lähkma-Saunametsa village society for several years, teaching traditional dances.
Sanna and Raido met while studying at the Sibelius Academy.
The musicians start learning the songs at 1 PM. Learning takes place by ear. All instruments are welcome. Dancers start at 2 PM. Previous dance experience is not necessary. Bring comfortable shoes.
