Estonian Textile Artists Union's Annual Exhibition 2024

THE COLOR OF THE YEAR IS MULTICOLORED

Colors have strength and power both individually and collectively, everything depends on the composition and harmony. Bright and dull, intense and restrained, the choice between contrasts is always different. Individually harmonious and controlled, sometimes everything together becomes a true fiesta! This is also the case with the authors participating in the exhibition – the paradox and strength of coexistence are expressed in the group exhibition. The Estonian Textile Artists Union brings together artists with very different authorial positions and creative handwritings, with textile being the central material in their works. The annual exhibition of the Estonian Textile Artists Union has become a traditional and eagerly awaited event for both the participants and the audience. The exhibition at the Museum of New Art also highlights the recipients of the annual awards – the Artist of the Year 2023 award goes to Aet Ollisaar, the Young Textile Artist of the Year 2023 award goes to Maria Kristiin Peterson, and the Textile Act of the Year 2023 award was given to Maryliis Teinfeldt-Grins' community project "Who Remembers Last? Who Remembers Better?” and the jury's special award for long-term and consistent research and development of textile art went to Kadi Pajupuu.
