On April 10th at 5:30 PM in the Pärnu Central Library's balcony hall, our book club will read and discuss the writings of Estonian nature travelers.

Hiking in nature, nature photography, and observations can be a profession or a hobby, but often they come with literary creativity as an added value. The Estonian nature has inspired many scientists, photographers, and hikers to transform their experiences into enjoyable literary forms. We have Hendrik Relve, Fred Jüssi, Kristel Vilbaste, Romet Vaino, and Juhani Püttsepp, as well as Valdur Mikita and Tõnu Õnnepalu, among others.

“If there is no nature, there is no culture. It is the foundation of culture. The main indicator of culture, in my opinion, is how a citizen, whether Estonian or Samoyed, treats their land and living environment.” (Fred Jüssi)

You are welcome to share reading experiences and explore new literature in a cozy atmosphere!
