Times and prices
16.05.25
This March, an acoustic guitar album was released by four guitarists from four countries: Eric Arn (Austria), Edgars Rubenis (Latvia), Lauri Manner (Finland), and Kalle Tikas (Estonia).
Each guitarist has created instrumental pieces specifically for the album. The styles blend blues, ragtime, American primitive, and more.
Recently, presentation concerts were held at Philly Joe's in Tallinn (20.03), followed by performances in Helsinki, Tartu, Riga, and elsewhere. Now, the virtuosos of acoustic guitar music are bringing their album to Pärnu.
This Friday, on May 16th, at 7 PM, Lauri Manner aka "Kadonnut Manner" from Finland, Edgars Rubenis from Latvia, and Kalle Tikas from Estonia will perform in the hall on the second floor of Mohri Aida.
The concert promises to be a treat for fans of good acoustic guitar music. Each of the three guitarists has promised to perform a long set, ensuring a beautiful spring Friday evening full of unforgettable musical experiences.
We will open the doors of Mohri KultuuriAit at 6 PM, and the buffet will offer refreshments and snacks.
About the performers:
Edgars Rubenis is a Latvian composer who blends the early traditions of blues and ragtime in his acoustic guitar-focused works, creating a bold and modern soundscape. His newest album, “Sea Unbound,” containing eight fascinating instrumental pieces, is the second edition of the ongoing trilogy “Pains and Boogies.” Since 2020, focusing primarily on the acoustic guitar, Rubenis' music has been featured on London’s Resonance FM radio, in concerts with Welsh guitarist Gwenifer Raymond, Finnish artist Kadonnut Manner, and at various festivals and tours in the UK, France, Sweden, Belgium, the Netherlands, and the Baltics.
Lauri Manner started in the 1990s as a bassist in various Finnish underground punk and rock bands. Inspired by John Fahey's music, he began learning fingerstyle guitar in 2015. Finding solace and purpose in guitar playing, he released his debut recording “The Lost Continent” under the artist name Kadonnut Manner in 2017, and now has released four original albums. Lauri currently lives with his partner Laura in Rovaniemi on the Arctic Circle and plans to continue making music and touring regardless of how bad the world situation gets.
Kalle Tikas has been on his musical journey since the early 1990s, playing blues and prog rock. At the beginning of the new millennium, he participated in various free improvisation projects and created music for contemporary theater performances. In 2015, he founded the avant blues ensemble Ringhold with avant-garde singer Eleonora Kampe, offering a fresh approach to the electric blues genre. The track "Painted Storm" on the new compilation is Kalle's first piece on acoustic guitar.
