Pärnu’s green urban environment, cheerful people and family-friendly dining and accommodation establishments make it a town everyone can enjoy. Thanks to the shallow bay that warms up quickly, Pärnu Beach is an excellent place for families with children. In addition, the town boasts Estonia’s largest water park, Tervise Paradiis, along with other spas and sauna centres where the whole family can have a good time. If you are looking to try out handicrafts as a group activity, you should visit Maripott Ceramics or the numerous handicraft workshops of the Mary Magdalene Guild. You can conveniently explore the different parts of beautiful Pärnu by bike or, alternatively, take a boat trip to see the town from the sea. Pärnu County is keen to host visiting families. In Valgeranna, you can put yourself to the test in an adventure park that has attractions for all ages. The Museum Railway in Lavassaare allows you to take a close look at real steam engines and freight cars. You can see local animals at the C. R. Jakobson Farm Museum, including the local breed of cattle, Estonian Whitehead sheep, Estonian horses, chickens and turkeys. There are horseback-riding farms in Pärnu County that offer you the chance to ride horses, conquer rivers by canoe and learn more about the local nature on designated nature trails. There are plenty of exciting and entertaining challenges available for adults and children both in summer and winter. When the weather is cold, visitors can take trips on skates, skis, snowshoes or kick sleds, go on a ride in a horse-drawn sleigh and share various other pleasant experiences.
